I struggle with wanting to do everything in life, even if it's not what I'm called to do. Not only do I want to do everything, but I want to do it perfectly. So, what do I do? I try and when it's not perfect, I give up. I become worn out and exhausted because I'm trying to succeed in something that isn't for me, right now.
Once that part of my brain clicks and I realize, "hey, this isn't for me right now", I feel so much better in letting that go, so I can surrender to it and not be defeated by it. Sure it's disappointing, but the things that are FOR YOU, will come naturally and you won't have to force your desire for it or the ability to do it. Not only is it about surrendering to the thing that isn't for me right now, but it's about surrendering to imperfection and what is truly meant for me. Remember, it's not on our timing. It is our life that we were destined for and even though we don't know the steps, they have been planned. We can walk blindly, but we can't consistently walk into something with our hands guiding us that isn't for us because it's not our time. I'm not saying this to say you can't do everything you want. What I'm saying is what I have found to work for me when my mind gets overwhelmed about achieving something that I have no control or gift in. YOU HAVE TO BREATHE Surrender to the things in your mind that aren't for you right now and find your pace in learning about it to start. For example: I would love to be a chef, but I can't cook. Will I ever be a chef? No, but that doesn't mean that I can't learn and create a passion for it just for myself and share it with those close to me. If you only obtain knowledge about it 10 minutes a day, you're still learning. you don't have to give 100% in the things you are not naturally called to do and even if you are called to do it, you can have an off day. You are allowed a day in your season to find your reason and then keep pressing on. It's day by day. Short-term goals lead to long term success in relationships, careers, passions, and just in life. Give yourself permission to be relaxed in the things you are learning.
